Peralta Trail

We decided to Hike the Peralta Trail last Saturday, March 13. It was supposed to be a 5 mile round trip from the Peralta Trailhead to the Freemont Saddle with a rewarding view of Weaver's Needle.

As it turned out, the trail was much more challenging than we expected and we only made it an hour in before turning around.

Arriving at the trailhead, all the gear in the back. It's nice having such a large vehicle to transport all of us comfortably & safely with all our gear. Tommy posing before the hike.

The views were great even in the parking lot.

One more picture before we start.

Crossed this stream several times.

Panoramic shot of the scenery.

It's hard to understand the scale of things out here sometimes until you see it like this.

At least the hike back is in the shade.

Three sisters standing together with "Three Sisters Mountain" in the background. I don't know if that's really the name of it, but I renamed it for this picture cause it makes for a better story.

Hard geologic structure in contrast with the soft green of spring.

Another hike, another picture of Tommy & a saguaro. This one is all twisted up.

Mama & Tommy

Finally...the parking lot. Time to go home and rest our wear bones. We'll be back.
